Amid Rising Security Concerns

Published:  Wednesday, March 23, 2011 7:00 am | Category: JCRC

As leaders of the Jewish Federation of South Palm Beach County, we deplore today’s bombing at a crowded Jerusalem bus stop, which has killed at least one, wounded at least thirty others, and shattered the peace of the city.
The bombing painfully recalls far too many past incidents. It also occurs amid increased rocket attacks from Gaza on southern Israeli communities that have the IDF on high alert. Our brothers and sisters in Israel are once again the victims of terrorism.
This attack targeting innocent civilians calls for condemnation from every civilized nation.
We are united with our Jewish community in grief, as our hearts go out to the bombing victims and their families. And, as always, our Jewish community stands together in proud solidarity with the State of Israel as our homeland faces this significant security situation.
We have full confidence in the State of Israel’s leaders to provide for the continued security of the State and our extended Israeli family there, as they address these escalating challenges.
B'Shalom,
Cindy Orbach Nimhauser
Chair, Jewish Federation of South Palm Beach Count
Irv E. Geffen
Chief Executive Officer, Jewish Federation of South Palm Beach County
