A Great Shabbat with Rabbi Ephraim Buchwald at Boca Raton Synagogue

Shabbos just ended in Boca Raton, but this weekend was one I won't forget for a long time. Rabbi Buchwald has been a mentor of mine and this was the first time that he has personally visited our community and got to see the magic of the Boca Raton Synagogue. Last night he came Friday Night Live, the BRS Beginner Service and spoke to the participants about personal growth. He mentioned the famous story that is told about the Kotzker Rebbi, who asked his students who is higher, the person at the top of the ladder or the person at the bottom of the ladder? He explained that it really depends on which direction the individual is headed. He also came to the Explanatory Experience and spoke there this morning. This afternoon he delivered the Rabbi's Class and spoke all about the Ba'al Teshuva movement and explained why so many Jews have started returning to traditional Judaism over the past thirty years. At the same time he also addressed the  challenge that orthodox Jews face with maintaining their enthusiasm for regular daily  ritual. He concluded by challenging the members of the community to be ambassadors for Judaism and go out and make a positive impression on unaffiliated Jews living in our community. Finally he spoke at Seudat Shlishiet about Prayer and explained how to inspire ourselves with a truly meaningful experience.
It was a memorable Shabbos that gave an energy boost to the BRS Outreach Revolution and the Boca Raton Jewish Experience.
